Yuji Tsukigata is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Itoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture. Born in 1958, he graduated from Seinan Gakuin University before working at the Morita Corporation. He served as a secretary to House of Representatives member Seiichi Ota for sixteen years. Tsukigata began his political career as a member of the Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly, where he served three terms starting in 2003. He was first elected Mayor of Itoshima in 2014 and has since been re-elected multiple times, most recently securing his fourth term in 2026.
