Yoshinori Yamaguchi is the Governor of Saga Prefecture, currently serving his third term. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he joined the Ministry of Home Affairs (now the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) in 1989, where he held various positions including roles in the Cabinet Office and local government postings in Tottori and Nagasaki. He was elected Governor of Saga in 2015 and has since focused on regional revitalization, including the introduction of the Saga Prefecture Partnership Oath System for LGBTQ+ couples. Yamaguchi is known for his emphasis on human-centered policy and regional development strategies.
