Keisuke Yamamoto is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Nagasaki Prefecture constituency. Born in Iki, Nagasaki, he previously served three terms in the Nagasaki Prefectural Assembly and worked as a secretary for members of the House of Representatives. Yamamoto has held the position of Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in the Sanae Takaichi Cabinet. Politically, he supports constitutional reform, including the explicit mention of the Self-Defense Forces in Article 9, and has expressed opposition to the introduction of a selective separate surname system for married couples.
