Profile
Takanori Yokosawa is a Japanese politician and former Paralympic athlete currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors. Born in Yahaba, Iwate, he worked as a test rider for Suzuki before a spinal cord injury in 1997 led him to wheelchair sports, eventually competing in alpine skiing at the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics. He entered politics in 2019, winning his first term in the House of Councillors representing the Iwate constituency. Yokosawa has served as the head of the Constitutional Democratic Party's Iwate prefectural chapter and currently holds the position of Chair of the Committee on Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs and Related Matters.
