Hiromasa Yonai is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Tokyo in 1987, he is the great-grandson of former Prime Minister Mitsumasa Yonai. After graduating from the University of Tokyo and working in the private sector, he served as a private secretary to lawmakers Kunio Hatoyama and Jiro Hatoyama. He began his political career in Iwate Prefecture, serving as a member of the Iwate Prefectural Assembly from 2019. In February 2026, he was elected to the House of Representatives through the proportional representation block. He is currently affiliated with the Aso faction within the Liberal Democratic Party.
