臥雲義尚

Yoshinao Gaun is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture. Before entering politics, he had a long career at NHK, where he worked as a political reporter, news desk editor, and commentator, covering major political figures and diplomatic events. He was first elected mayor in 2020 and secured a second term in 2024. During his tenure, he has focused on municipal administration, including the implementation of a partnership oath system for same-sex couples and various urban development projects.
