上野庸介

Yosuke Ueno is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Obihiro, Hokkaido. Born in Obihiro, he graduated from the Tokyo Metropolitan University Faculty of Law. Before entering politics, he worked in the publishing industry and served as a public secretary to a member of the House of Representatives. Ueno previously served two terms as a member of the Obihiro City Council. In April 2026, he was elected Mayor of Obihiro, defeating the incumbent in a closely watched race that saw him supported by local grassroots efforts against a broad coalition of established political parties.
