Yosuke Kon is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Hokuriku-Shin'etsu proportional representation block. A former bureaucrat at the Cabinet Office, he has held various public service roles, including serving as the Deputy Mayor of Ono City, Fukui Prefecture, from 2016 to 2018. His career also spans the private sector and academia, having worked as a senior manager at SoftBank Group and as a specially appointed associate professor at Kanazawa University. Kon holds a degree from the University of Tokyo and a master's degree in development economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. He was elected to the Diet in February 2026 following his second candidacy.
