Yumiko Terukawa is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Katsuura City in Chiba Prefecture. Born in Katsuura, she previously worked as a public elementary school teacher and served as the principal of Isumi Municipal Furusawa Elementary School. She entered local politics in 2015, winning a seat on the Katsuura City Council, where she served two terms. In 2022, she was elected as the first female mayor of Katsuura and the first female mayor in the Sotobo region. Her political focus includes creating a community where residents can safely give birth, raise children, and live.
