Akio Tomita is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Aichi Prefectural Assembly, representing the Meito Ward of Nagoya City. First elected in 1999, he is currently serving his sixth term in office. Before entering politics, he worked for the retail company Daiei and later served in the office of a politician. He is affiliated with the Aichi branch of the Democratic Party for the People, where he has held the position of Secretary-General. His political motto is 'One for all, all for one.'
