Alain Maron

Alain Maron is a Belgian politician affiliated with the Ecolo party. Born in Verviers in 1972, he studied communication and economic and social policy before working in social cohesion and youth information organizations. He served as a municipal councilor in Saint-Gilles and was elected to the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region in 2009. He gained prominence by uncovering the Samusocial scandal in 2017 and subsequently served as a minister in the Brussels-Capital Government from 2019 to 2026, holding portfolios including climate transition, environment, health, and social action, before returning to his seat in the Brussels Parliament.
