Alex Ruhunda is a Ugandan politician, community organizer, and businessman currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Fort Portal Municipality. A member of the National Resistance Movement, he has held various parliamentary leadership roles, including chairperson of the Parliamentary Forum for Road Safety and vice chairperson of the Committee on Trade, Tourism and Industry. Before entering elective politics in 2011, Ruhunda founded the Kabarole Research and Resource Centre and served as the president of the International Association for Community Development. He is a graduate of Makerere University with degrees in Political Science and Gender and Development studies.
