Andries Heidema

Andries Heidema is a Dutch politician and administrator currently serving as the King's Commissioner in the province of Overijssel since July 2018. A member of the Christian Union party, he previously held the office of Mayor of Deventer from 2007 to 2018 and Mayor of Neder-Betuwe from 2002 to 2007. Earlier in his career, he worked as a policy advisor and project manager for the National Spatial Planning Agency and the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. Heidema has also held various leadership roles in regional development and municipal associations.
