Anja Schouten

Anja Schouten is a Dutch administrator and politician who has served as the Mayor of Alkmaar since June 23, 2021. Before entering public office, she held various management roles in healthcare and the police sector, including serving as the police chief of the North Holland Regional Police Unit from 2017 to 2021. She also previously chaired the Board of Directors at Stichting Zorgbalans. Schouten is non-partisan and was born and raised in Alkmaar, where she continues to serve the local community.
