Aruna Jayasekara

Aruna Jayasekara is a Sri Lankan politician and retired major general who currently serves as a Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Defence. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished military career spanning over three decades, during which he commanded various divisions and served as the Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters – East. In 2023, he led the Retired Armed Forces Collective for the National People's Power and was subsequently elected to the 17th Parliament of Sri Lanka in 2024.
