Asuman Basalirwa is a Ugandan politician and lawyer who served as the Member of Parliament for Bugiri Municipality. First elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2021, he has held the presidency of the Justice Forum (JEEMA) party since 2010. During his parliamentary tenure, he served as the Deputy Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee and gained international attention for tabling the Anti-Homosexuality Bill in 2023. Following his defeat in the 2026 general elections, he returned to his legal practice.
