Bob Smith

Bob Smith is an American politician serving as a member of the New Jersey Senate since 2002, where he represents the 17th Legislative District. An attorney by profession, he previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1986 to 2001 and as the Mayor of Piscataway from 1981 to 1986. Throughout his legislative career, Smith has focused on environmental policy, authoring significant legislation such as the Clean Water Enforcement Act and the Oil Spill Prevention Act. He currently chairs the Senate Environment and Energy Committee and serves on the Judiciary Committee.
