Choi Dong-min

Choi Dong-min is a South Korean politician currently serving as the 47th Mayor of Dongdaemun District in Seoul. A former student activist during the 1987 June Democratic Struggle, he later worked as a parliamentary aide to Choo Mi-ae and served in the Moon Jae-in administration as an administrator in the Office of the President. He has a background in civil society activism, including work with the Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice, and has focused his political career on local governance and urban development. He assumed his current office in July 2026 after winning the local election.
