Cristina Ayala

Cristina Ayala Santamaría is a Spanish politician serving as the first female mayor of Burgos since 2023. A member of the People's Party, she previously served as a city councillor in Burgos, a deputy in the Cortes of Castile and León, and a member of the Senate of Spain from 2015 to 2023. Ayala holds a law degree from the University of Burgos and has completed master's degrees in environmental education and local development. Before her political career, she practiced law and worked in rural development.
