Daniel Perez

Daniel Anthony Perez is an American politician serving as the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party, he has represented the state's 116th House district since 2017. Throughout his tenure, Perez has been noted for his legislative leadership, including his role in navigating complex budget negotiations and immigration policy debates, occasionally diverging from the executive branch to assert the independence of the legislature. A first-generation son of Cuban immigrants and a Catholic, he was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the United States Ambassador to Brazil in June 2026.
