Derrick Nyeko is a Ugandan politician and farmer currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Makindye East in the 11th Parliament of Uganda (2021–2026). A member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), he previously held positions as the Shadow Minister for Presidency and Security and Shadow Minister for Defence and Veteran Affairs. Nyeko began his political career in youth council leadership before transitioning from the ruling National Resistance Movement to the opposition in protest of presidential age limit extensions. He is known for his advocacy within the People Power, Our Power movement and his active role in opposition politics.
