渡辺英次

Eiji Watanabe is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Shibetsu, Hokkaido. Born in 1972 in Shibetsu, he previously worked in the construction industry before entering local politics. He served three terms as a member of the Shibetsu City Council starting in 2010. In 2021, he was elected as mayor, focusing his platform on revitalizing the local economy, strengthening cooperation with regional and national governments, and promoting the introduction of local currency. He was re-elected to a second term in September 2025.
