Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin is a Canadian politician serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia for the district of Cumberland North. First elected in 2017 as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party, she was removed from the party caucus in 2021 following her involvement in a border blockade protest. She subsequently won re-election as an Independent in 2021 and 2024, becoming the first independent candidate in the province's history to be re-elected to the legislature. Before entering politics, she worked as a nurse and earned an executive MBA.
