Erik Lauritzen

Erik Lauritzen is a Danish politician and educator who has served as the Mayor of Sønderborg Municipality since 2013. Born in 1960 in Blanskov, he initially worked as a farmer and later as an agricultural technologist and economics consultant. In 2000, he transitioned to a career in education, teaching economics at the Gråsten Agricultural School. Lauritzen began his political career in 2002 as a member of the Sundeved municipal council and has represented the Social Democrats on the Sønderborg city council since 2007. He is known for his long-standing involvement in local sports and community associations.
