Ernest Urtasun is a Spanish politician and economist serving as the Minister of Culture of Spain since November 2023. Born in Barcelona, he began his political career early in youth wings associated with Initiative for Catalonia Greens and earned degrees in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and international relations from the University of Barcelona. He previously served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2014 to 2023, where he was affiliated with the Greens–European Free Alliance political group and focused on economic, monetary, and gender equality issues.
