Kai Odake is a Japanese politician currently serving his second term as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, he graduated from the National Institute of Technology, Ishikawa College, and worked at the construction firm Obayashi Corporation for four years before entering politics. He joined the Democratic Party for the People in 2023, serving as the youth bureau chief for the party's Ishikawa prefectural branch. Odake was first elected to the Diet in the 2024 general election via the proportional representation block after running in Ishikawa's 1st district. He secured his second term in the 2026 general election, again through proportional representation, after increasing his vote share in the Ishikawa 1st district.
