George Rauscher

George Rauscher is an American politician serving as a member of the Alaska Senate, representing District O. He was appointed to the Senate in November 2025 to succeed Mike Shower. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, Rauscher served in the Alaska House of Representatives, where he represented the 29th District and previously the 9th District. His political career began with his service on the Sutton Community Council from 2007 to 2011. In 2026, he made headlines after his chief of staff was arrested on federal child sex trafficking charges, an incident to which Rauscher responded by immediately terminating the employee.
