Gerhard van den Top is a Dutch environmental scientist and administrator who has served as the Mayor of Hilversum since 2022. Before entering local government, he held various leadership roles in environmental conservation and water management, including serving as the director of nature conservation for the World Wide Fund for Nature and as the dijkgraaf (water board chair) of the Amstel, Gooi en Vecht water board. He holds a doctorate in environmental science from Leiden University and has worked as a strategy consultant for Shell Global Solutions. Van den Top is non-partisan.
