H. D. Deve Gowda

H. D. Deve Gowda is an Indian politician who served as the 11th Prime Minister of India from 1996 to 1997. Born into a farming family, he began his political career in the Indian National Congress before becoming a prominent leader in the Janata Dal. He previously served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996 and has held various legislative positions throughout his long career. Currently, he serves as a Member of the Rajya Sabha, representing Karnataka, and remains the president of the Janata Dal (Secular).
