Haji Nurul Islam

Haji Nurul Islam was an Indian politician who served as a Member of Parliament for the Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency and previously as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Haroa constituency in West Bengal. A member of the All India Trinamool Congress, he began his political career in local governance as a member of the Bahera Gram Panchayat Samiti. Before entering politics, he worked as a small-scale businessman in the zari industry. He passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 60.
