Helena Jaczek

Helena Jaczek is a Canadian physician and politician currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Markham—Stouffville. Born in England and raised in Canada, she previously had a distinguished career in medicine, serving as the chief medical officer of health for York Region for 18 years. Her political career includes serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2007 to 2018, where she held several cabinet positions, including Minister of Community and Social Services and Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. Since entering federal politics in 2019, she has served in the federal cabinet as Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario and as Minister of Public Services and Procurement. Jaczek is recognized for her focus on public health, social policy, and economic development.
