Hideki Nakayama is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Azumino City in Nagano Prefecture. A long-time civil servant, he began his career at the Hotaka Town office in 1977 and continued his service for Azumino City following its municipal merger in 2005. During his tenure as a city official, he held various leadership roles, including Director of the Planning and Finance Department. He later served as the Deputy Mayor of Azumino for eight years starting in 2018. Following the sudden passing of his predecessor, he was elected as mayor in January 2026 after running unopposed in the municipal election.
