Hilary Obaloker Onek is a Ugandan engineer and politician currently serving as the Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees. First elected to the Parliament of Uganda in 2001 to represent Lamwo County, he has held several ministerial positions, including Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career as a civil engineer, notably serving as the managing director of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation. He holds multiple advanced degrees, including an MBA from Makerere University and an MSc in Engineering from the People's Friendship University in Moscow.
