Hiroaki Yamamoto is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Masuda in Shimane Prefecture, a position he has held since 2012. Born in Kora, Shiga Prefecture, he graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in law. Before entering politics, he worked in his family's rice business and later served as the president of Hyoma Co., Ltd. He began his political career as a member of the Masuda City Council in 2011. As mayor, he has focused on population growth initiatives and regional revitalization, successfully securing four consecutive terms in office.
