Hiroki Kondo is a Japanese politician and businessman currently serving as the Mayor of Nisshin, Aichi Prefecture. Born in 1969, he graduated from McKinley High School in Hawaii and Academy Pacific in California before joining the restaurant chain Asakuma, where he served as president from 1999 to 2004. He began his political career as a member of the Nisshin City Council in 2007, eventually serving as its chairman. Elected mayor in 2019 and re-elected unopposed in 2023, he has focused on social inclusivity, notably introducing a partnership oath system for same-sex and common-law couples in 2023.
