Hitoshi Ishida is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Ogaki in Gifu Prefecture. Born in 1961, he graduated from Nippon Sport Science University in 1984 and initially worked for the Ogaki Agricultural Cooperative. He began his political career as a member of the Ogaki City Council, serving five consecutive terms starting in 2003 and acting as the council chair from 2015 to 2016. In 2021, he was elected as the Mayor of Ogaki with broad cross-party support and was subsequently re-elected in 2025. He is known for his active engagement in local community events, including supporting the city's representative baseball team.
