伊波洋一

Yoichi Iha is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors representing Okinawa Prefecture. Before his national career, he served as the mayor of Ginowan City for two terms and as a member of the Okinawa Prefectural Assembly. Throughout his political career, Iha has been a prominent advocate for the relocation of U.S. military bases outside of Okinawa and has consistently opposed constitutional amendments, particularly those concerning Article 9. He is associated with the 'Okinawa no Kaze' parliamentary group and has been a key figure in the 'All Okinawa' political movement. His policy positions include support for gender equality measures, such as selective separate surnames for married couples, and opposition to nuclear power.
