Previously, she represented Newport West from 2016 to 2026 and held the position of Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government from 2024 to 2026. A graduate of Keele University, she has been active in Welsh politics for over a decade, including chairing the Senedd's Standards of Conduct committee and co-founding the Purple Plaques scheme to honor remarkable women in Wales.
