Sir Jeffrey Mark Donaldson is a Northern Irish former politician who served as the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) from 2021 to 2024. He represented the Lagan Valley constituency as a Member of Parliament in the UK House of Commons from 1997 to 2024. Throughout his career, Donaldson was a prominent unionist figure, initially associated with the Ulster Unionist Party before joining the DUP in 2004. He played a significant role in Northern Irish politics, including serving as a Junior Minister in the Northern Ireland Executive and leading the DUP through complex negotiations regarding the Northern Ireland Protocol and the Windsor Framework. He stepped down as party leader in March 2024 following the announcement of criminal charges against him.
