Joanne Aniku Okia

Joanne Aniku Okia is a Ugandan politician serving as the Woman Member of Parliament for Madi Okollo District. A member of the National Resistance Movement, she made history as the first woman to represent the district in the Ugandan Parliament after winning her seat unopposed in the 2021 general election. Throughout her tenure, she has been involved in local governance issues, including efforts to resolve long-standing border conflicts between Madi Okollo and Terego districts. She is also known for advocating for social issues, including advising women on family empowerment and marital relations.
