Mathias Mpuuga is a Ugandan politician, lawyer, and educator who served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Ugandan Parliament from 2021 to 2024. A founding member of the Uganda Young Democrats, he has held various parliamentary roles, including serving as a member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Appointments Committee. Mpuuga represented the Masaka Municipality from 2011 to 2021 and the Nyendo–Mukungwe Division until his departure from office in 2026. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure within the National Unity Platform and has served as a member of the University Council of Mutesa I Royal University.
