John Cummins

John Cummins is an Irish Fine Gael politician serving as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Waterford constituency since the 2024 general election. In January 2025, he was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage with special responsibility for local government and planning. Previously, he served as a Senator on the Labour Panel from 2020 to 2024 and held various roles on the Waterford City and County Council, including serving as the Mayor of Waterford. A former teacher, Cummins holds a degree in Physical Education and Geography Teaching from the University of Limerick.
