John Garamendi

John Garamendi is an American politician and businessman who has served as a member of the United States House of Representatives since 2009, representing areas of Northern California. A member of the Democratic Party, his extensive political career includes serving as the 46th Lieutenant Governor of California, U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Interior, and California Insurance Commissioner. Educated at the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard Business School, Garamendi began his career in the Peace Corps. He is known for his focus on environmental issues, infrastructure, and his consistent support for reproductive rights and bodily autonomy.
