John Vanthof

John Vanthof is a Canadian politician serving as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for the riding of Timiskaming—Cochrane. First elected in 2011, he has been re-elected multiple times and currently serves as the House leader of the Official Opposition, as well as the party critic for Agriculture and Food and for Rural Affairs. Before entering provincial politics, he was a dairy farmer and served as president of the Temiskaming Federation of Agriculture, where he was a vocal opponent of local waste disposal projects.
