都竹淳也

Junya Tsuzuku is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Hida City in Gifu Prefecture. Born in 1967, he graduated from the University of Tsukuba and spent many years as a civil servant in the Gifu Prefectural Government, where he worked in various departments including health, welfare, and policy coordination. He was first elected as Mayor of Hida in 2016 and has since secured re-election for consecutive terms. During his tenure, he has focused on regional development and local tourism initiatives, notably serving as the inaugural chairman of the Gifu Location Tourism Council. His policy interests have included efforts to introduce partnership certification systems for LGBT and de facto married couples to promote inclusivity within the city.
