Karin Housley is an American politician serving as a member of the Minnesota Senate since 2013, representing District 33. A member of the Republican Party, she has been a prominent advocate for issues concerning aging, long-term care, and veterans, notably chairing the first Minnesota Senate committee on aging and authoring landmark legislation to protect vulnerable adults in senior care facilities. Before her legislative career, she worked as a news producer in Buffalo, New York. Housley also ran as the Republican nominee in the 2018 United States Senate special election and has served as an assistant majority leader in the Minnesota Legislature.
