Katsushige Hanada is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Tokai City in Aichi Prefecture. After graduating from the Aichi Institute of Technology in 1981, he began his career as a civil servant at the Tokai City Hall. He later served as the Deputy Mayor of Tokai before being elected as mayor in 2021, succeeding the previous administration. He was re-elected unopposed in 2025. During his tenure, he has focused on progressive social policies, including the implementation of a partnership oath system for same-sex couples in 2023.
