Kazuaki Hibi is a Japanese politician and architect currently serving as the Mayor of Tsushima City in Aichi Prefecture. A graduate of the Tokyo University of Science, he previously worked for the Japanese National Railways and founded the architectural firm Nisshin Design Office. Hibi entered local politics as a member of the Tsushima City Council before being elected mayor in 2014. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on disaster prevention and urban planning, including the promotion of earthquake-resistant housing models. His administration has faced various challenges regarding municipal personnel appointments and legislative relations.
