Kazuhiko Kiyono is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, having assumed office in 2025. Born in Chichibu in 1983, he graduated from Waseda University with a degree in political science. Before entering politics, he worked with the Japan Bear and Forest Association and contributed to documentation regarding the displacement of residents following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. He previously served three terms as a member of the Chichibu City Council. His political interests were shaped by the September 11 attacks, leading him to focus on peace-building and the philosophy of non-violent civil disobedience.
