岩谷一弘

Kazuhiro Iwaya is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture. Born in Kasukabe, he graduated from Waseda University before working in the hotel and corporate sectors. He began his political career as a member of the Kasukabe City Council, where he served four terms and led the Saitama Seishikai, a group for young local legislators. After several electoral challenges, he was first elected mayor in 2021 and subsequently re-elected in 2025. His administration focuses on urban revitalization, improving city services, and leveraging local cultural assets such as the 'Crayon Shin-chan' connection to promote tourism.
